Insulation to underside of flooring

For homes with suspended floors (when the floor is not in direct contact with the ground), under floor insulation will assist to reduce heat loss loss by up to 20% in winter which is otherwise being lost through the floor.

Under floor insulation is also often used in the cavity between the lower floor ceiling and the upstairs floor.  Insulation placed in that cavity will improve the thermal comfort of the spaces above and below it, as well as acting as a noise barrier between upstairs and downstairs.
